Filing a Consumer Complaint in e-Jagrithi & Consumer Commissions
The Consumer Protection Act, 2019 allows you to file complaints electronically. In Karnataka, this is done via the e-Jagrithi portal or the central E-Daakhil system. However, procedural errors often lead to immediate rejection by the Registrar.
Is the Portal Confusing?
A complaint requires proper "Prayer," "Facts," and "Jurisdiction" clauses. We draft your complaint professionally and file it for you to ensure it gets admitted.
Draft My Complaint →Steps to File a Complaint
- Legal Notice (Mandatory Step): Before filing, you must send a legal notice to the opposite party giving them 15-30 days to resolve the issue.
- Jurisdiction Check: Depending on the claim amount, your case goes to the District Commission (up to ₹50 Lakhs), State Commission, or National Commission.
- Drafting the Complaint: You must clearly state the "Cause of Action" and the specific relief (refund/compensation) sought.
- Evidence: Attach invoices, warranty cards, email communications, and the legal notice copy.
Common Reasons for Rejection
- Filing in the wrong district (Territorial Jurisdiction).
- Not attaching the "Section 65B Certificate" for electronic evidence (emails/WhatsApp).
- Time Barred (Complaint filed more than 2 years after the incident).
